Description

You’ll truly get to know Nepal on this 12-day tour which includes 7-days of hiking in the Himalayas. First, you’ll get to know Kathmandu, the national capital, as well as its surroundings, with a tour through the Kathmandu Valley. Then you’ll drive to Pokhara, where you’ll spend a night before flying to Jomsom the next day. Jomsom, built along the sacred Kali Gandaki River, is where the weeklong trek begins. You’ll head up, down, and around picturesque mountains and valleys, enjoying spectacular sites. The entire route is below 4,000m/13,123ft above sea level, making it ideal for beginners, although it is stimulating for anyone that attempts it. The circuit runs through the diverse ecosystems, from subtropical jungle to arid highland plateaus, between the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, which house 8 of the 20 tallest mountains in the world. The main target and highest point of the trek is Muktinath, Nepal’s most famous pilgrimage site, which is sacred to Hindus and Buddhists alike. The temple’s outer courtyard includes 108 bull-shaped taps that pump freezing water which pilgrims come from afar to cleanse with.
