Not only is Aswan the hottest city in Egypt, but also one of the driest in the world.  Rainfall never exceeds more than 2mm every 5 years with the last thunderstorm being in 2006. For this reason, Nubian settlements generally don’t roof all the rooms in their homes – no need!
Aswan has two seasons with a mild temperature variation. Winter temperatures, roughly between October and March, average from 11°Cat night to 25°C during the day. Summer temperatures, between April and September, are almost unbearable with nights at 25°Cand 40°C during the day.

What to Bring
Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat are recommended for travelers not accustomed to extreme heat, especially for travel during the summer months.
